This popUp menu selects the font style used by the hilight command to emphasize various elements within a document.
Simplified Tool Palette
When checked, substitutes a simplified version of the HTML.edit tool palette.
No Binks
When checked, suppresses the 'bink' noise used to indicate completion of a task.
Editor Text Font Size
A popUp menu that selects the font size used within the editor, header, and footer windows.
Set WWW Browser
Click on this button to select your preferred WWW browser application, used by the Preview and Browse commands.
Server Platform
Use this popUp menu to select which platform will be used as the HTTP server. This determines which line delimiter is used in exported documents.
Always Parse HTML on Import
If the imported text contains structural codes (such as <HTML>,<HEAD>,<BODY>, etc.) moves the HEAD section to the Header field and checks the structural code syntax.
Port Number
If not using the default number of the specified protocol, enter the decimal number of the alternate port. (This is usually left blank.)
Save Settings
Click on this button to save the current settings to a Preferences file.
Restore Settings
Click on this button to restore the current settings from a Preferences file.
Project Labels
This is the list of labels, which may be used to designate projects or folders in the hierarchy of your server.
Label Paths
These are are the paths to each project folder; all documents with that label will be stored there.
The folder appears to the right of its label.
Set HTTP Server Folder
Click on this button to set the location of the HTTP server application, or enter its path (eg., ‘earth:www:’) in the field provided.
The Server Folder is the physical path to the folder containing the HTTP server application.

Editor Text Font Size
A popUp menu that selects the font size used within the editor, header, and footer windows.
Translate Custom Entities on Export
When checked, translates date codes (in curly-parentheses) to the current date on exported files.
When unchecked, date codes are left untranslated in the exported document.
HTML Returns
When checked, enters the line break <BR> whenever you type Shift-Return; the HTML 2.0 paragraph tags <P></P> on Option-Return; paragraph <P> on Shift-Option-Return;.
Arrow Keys in Text
When checked, the arrow keys move the text insertion point within the text edit field while editing.
When not checked, the arrow keys always navigate between documents.
Display Tool Palette When in Editor
When checked, automatically displays the HTML Tool Palette upon entering the Editor window.
To manually display the HTML Tool palette, click on the palette icon found in the upper left corner of the document window.
Compact Editor on Quit
As you work with the editor, the file space it occupies accumulates some unusable space called “free space.” Checking this box causes the editor to eliminate the free space when it exceeds the set threshold.
Editor Compaction Threshold
The Compact popup menu sets the threshold (from 0% to 50%) of how much free space can accumulate before it is automatically compacted when you Quit the editor.

As you work with the editor, the file space it occupies accumulates some unusable space called “free space.”
Clicking this button displays the current ratio of free space to editor file space.

When checked, text wraps to the next line in the Header, Body and Footer fields.

Convert LF to CR on Import
When checked, translates lineFeed characters (ASCII 10) to return characters on imported files.
When unchecked, lineFeeds are left untranslated in the imported document.
Translate Custom Entities on Export
When checked, substitutes the contents of the associated Master Header, Master Footer, or document for associated custom entities in the exported document.
When unchecked, HTML.edit performs no substitution on export.
Translate Date/Time Entities on Export
When checked, translates embedded date and time entity codes into the current date or time as indicated by the code on exported documents.
When unchecked, leaves the untranslated entities in the exported document.
New Document on Form Feed
When checked, each instance of a formFeed character (ASCII 12) within the imported file will create a new document. When unchecked, formFeeds are left in the imported document and ignored.

When checked, restores the document path (ie., location) from the BASE element's path relative to the server root (when possible).
When unchecked, imported documents will display the path of the imported file.

Use the Size Window popUp menu to resize the document and editor window.

Remember Window Location
When checked, remembers the location and size of the application window between sessions.
When checked, displays a dialog box confirming the choice made for HREF document on Link to Previous Document and Link to Next Document.
Show and Use Full PathName
When checked, displays the pathname of the last exported copy of the document in the lower left of the document window. HTML.edit uses the stored pathname to update the file when this checkbox is hilited.
